About Us
Della Hoke and Don Uvick are partners in marriage and the arts. They
have been involved in their art, photography and other creative works
in
south
central
Pennsylvania
for two
decades, and started Creative Visions in 1988.
Della has a B.A. from the Pennsylvania
State University (University Park, PA) in Drawing and a B.F.A from
the California Institute of the Arts
(Valencia, CA) in Character Animation. She has provided artwork for numerous
organizations: flyers, t-shirts, brochures, etc. Della has also shown
and sold her pieces throughout the Greater Harrisburg area. In addition,
she designs and maintains web sites and newsletters.
Don received his B.S. in Business Administration
from Penn State. He works full time as
a Research Analyst for the Naval Inventory Control
Point in Mechanicsburg. Don has been photographing for many years, believing
that as a photographer he can provide a variation in subject matter which
is pleasing to both the casual observer and those with a trained artistic
eye. To Don, photography is a media which reaches out to everyone, that
a photograph should create a feeling and elicit an emotional response
from its viewer.
In 1986 he began to capture and
preserve as many lighthouses as possible on film (not digital) so
that they can be shared by
all forever. Don has photographed well over 100 lighthouses
and continues to add more to his list. (Resume).
However, his passion for photography
goes beyond lighthouses. His fine art photography covers a broad
range of topics including architecture, nature, nostalgia, photojournalism
and street scenes.
