Digital Photography
Presentation
Don Uvick seeks to preserve our past through his photography.
Three areas of primary interest are lighthouses, diners and the "Big Apple",
New
York City.
Thus
was
born
a
second
outlet in his effort to preserve them; Digital Art Shows. These 60-90
minute digital photography programs give groups an informative and entertaining
means of appreciating and learning more about various topics. Information
about presenting one of these programs
in the Central Pennsylvania area is available upon request
NOTE: Programs will not be available until Fall 2008. Some were originally
shown as slide shows.
These presentations are currently being converted over to digital.
Coming Attractions:
The Mighty Sentinels of the Sea & Lighthouses -
A Part of Our Past
"The Mighty Sentinels of the Sea" takes the viewer on a relaxing voyage of the Lighthouses around North America. A 13 minute musical prelude sets the mood by presenting a variety of lighthouses in different settings. "Lighthouses - A Part of Our Past" is
a lighthouse education program. The presentation can be designed to meet
the interests of the group or organization. The presentation can include
a history
of lighthouses, pointers on how to photograph that special lighthouse and
a discussion of select lights in the US.
Cape May - Victorian Beauties By the Sea
The beautiful Victorians of Cape May have been admired by many people
for many years. He will bring that beauty closer to home, along with some
history.
Diners of the Northeast
Everyone loves a diner. Many books, TV Shows (e.g. "Diners,
Drive-Ins and Dives") and documentaries have taken on this subject.
Now, you can take a photographic journey of some of the establishments
found in the Northeastern
US.
First Stop: Manhattan
Don spent the first 4 years of my life in Queens. Although, it was a short
time, he always considered NYC as a second home. His family would make frequent
trips to visit friends and relatives who were scattered about the five boroughs
(Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island) of New York City.
Each borough offers its own history and has a unique character all its own.
Over the years, he has returned to the city. From these visits a portfolio
of images was developed which captured his personal views of the city. The
first
snapshot
of the
five is
Manhattan!
