I got an e-mail from Anne Deeter. She read in the paper the other day that Marcia's Mom pasted away. Chris Dejoseh's father passed away this summer. Rosie's dad passed away as well. We are now the leaders of our familes and it is nice we have great friends to support us.

Received from Sandy Kyle Bogdan, March 8, 2002: her father, Vance Kyle, passed away on February 12, 2002 of Lung/Liver cancer. He was principal of Shaeffer Elementary school for years. He was active in the community also. Her parents reside in Enola PA. She is planning to help this year for the reunion, but now her Mom needs surgery and she is out of commission for awhile.

The High School (now also the Middle School) has been undergoing construction for quite some time now. The space under the library (which was added during our Junior year) will have classrooms and the High School Office. The Chestnut Street entrance (up from the auditorium entrance) will be the Middle School entrance. The cafeteria will moved up to the ground level, as well as many other changes.

There was an article about Dawn Keeley-Gibb in Central PA Business Journal as a graphic artist.

The 25th reunion is being tentatively planned for the Thanksgiving weekend 2002. We may meet at the Appalachian Brewing Company on friday and either Harrisburg Country Club or White Pines (formerly Ranchland) for a dinner. Those are some tentative ideas. If you have any ideas or would like to help, contact Craig Bartlett

The West Shore Public Library is no more .... and ol' Lincoln Elementary is gone is well. The new Cleve J. Fredricksen Library opened on January 11 on the school's site. The new library is more than twice as large, with room for the collection to grow. It is built in the "Arts and Crafts" style, with Mission-style furniture.

It was reported earlier that the old Farmer's Market in Lemoyne had burned down. It reopened later in 2000 and most of the vendors returned. There are many shops upstairs.

Word was received from Michelle Miller McClellan's parents that Michelle died on June 4, 2000. She had been suffering from stomach cancer for several years. She is survived by two children, her parents, and brothers and sisters.

At the Memorial Day (2000) parade yesterday, the Zembo took up a third, the emergency vehicles (from every town surrounding CH and beyond) another third and the final third was the various groups, including Anne Deeter Gallaher's cub/boy scouts. Shea Quinn was spotted, Mr Judge's horse misbehaved (he rides with the Zembo group), Tammy Childers Dernoga was there to watch her daughter march with the Brownies (Della Hoke-Uvick is the leader), Jim Nolte and wife Chrissy Conroy Nolte watched along the sidelines. Elmo was in town visiting his mom (accompanied by his wife and their two children), the Murphy Boys were spotted at the ceremonies at the cemetery behind the fire station by Barb Wightman, visiting her folks, with HER husband and kids. Upperclassmen were around, too: Rick McBride once again has added onto the family homestead and Cindy Heiney has opened a small restaurant in Old Borough Hall.

Craig Bartlett and Rosanne (Kelly) Gibson will be at the Applachian Brewing Company the Friday after Thanksgiving. If you are in the area, please do come by and visit!

Mr. Ned A. Hoffmeister, 77, father of classmate Chip Hoffmeister and retired teacher that many of us had for Drivers' Ed, died on Sunday, November 7, 1999. He was very active in church (Trinity Lutheran), a member of the CH Education Assoc. and Cumberland County Retired Teachers, an Army veteran of WWII, and a member of Lower Allen VFW and Louther Manor Lodge 781 F&AM.

Received word from Sue Royer that her mother died last January and that Judy McBride's mom died last December.

The American Legion's former meeting place, a log cabin behind the old boro building, is gone - but not forgotten.

Some years ago the Borough of Camp Hill built a new building, across from the Fire Station, which included an expanded Police Department. The old building on Market Street has been for sale since then, as well as the land behind it, and the log cabin was for sale to whomever would move it. Recently Matt Mumber, a former Camp Hill area resident, purchased the cabin. It was dismantled and moved to Georgia, where it will become part of a retreat for cancer victims.

The "Olde Borough Hall" is being renovated and will house several specialty shops, including one owned by a CH alumni. Blooms by Vickery - Flowers & Gifts is owned by Mark Vickery.

Interest has been expressed by other CHHS alumni, so an Camp Hill Alumni page for other graduates of CH has been added. If you are, or know of others, who have graduated from CHHS and would like to be added, contact Della.

Congrats to Mike and Barb Gher who became grandparents when Destiny Lee Kerstetter was born on 2/2/99!
Are they the first from our class to become grandparents??

Congratulations to the Myers family on their new addition!!

How many of us went to the West Shore Farmer's Market in Lemoyne? A fire broke out around 1 AM on Monday, February 1, 1999 and by the time the evening news was on air, the market was still ablaze. The building was gutted, despite the efforts of 25 fire companies from three counties. 70 vendors lost their businesses and six apartment dwellers their homes. It is not known if the Market will be rebuilt at this time.

Our condolences to Chris Columbus and her sister and brothers, who lost their father last October (1998).

Not many showed up at ABC: Craig, Jim Nolte and Della Hoke-Uvick, but we saw Larry Kaspar and Bob Ensslen and we all chatted a while. Tom McGovern was around, too. The class of '82 was having a mini-reunion and there were lots of familiar (but nameless - old brain, you know). Nancy Brandt Smith was there, too. She said that some of the early 80's classes were thinking of having a combination reunion because their reunions have been poorly attended. (Dec. 1998)

Della, Thanks for your note! Petr Alessandro Scokalo was born December 14 (1998) at 1:15 a.m. in Tokyo. Mommy, baby and Daddy are doing fine. He was 8lbs 12 oz (good thing he was early or he'd be even bigger...) He's the best Christmas present in the whole world. Hope all goes well. Merry Christmas and all the best for 1999! - Tammy

There was a get-together at the Apalachian Brewing Company on Friday, November 27. Attendees were Craig Bartlett, Sue Royer, Della Hoke-Uvick, John Judge, Judy McBride, Patty Ensslen Vogl and her husband, Lee Fry Dolan, her husband and brother, Rosanne Kelly Gibson, her brother, sisters and brother-in-law, Dennis Myers, and Bob Kehew. There were also many members of the classes of 1981 and 1983 (in town for their 15th Reunion) and others from classes before ours. It was a fun evening and we hope to do it again, perhaps over the Christmas holidays?
Please note that there are now additions to the class cvisions1@yahoo.com list.

Yes, the Camp Hill Football Team made it into the playoffs again this year. They won their first game and played Scotland last night. It was cold and wet. They hung in there but, Scotland had a couple of big plays and won 26 to 6. Coach Sover is still the offensive coordinator. It was a trip to hear the band and see the Cheerleaders. They looked they such young kids. Where we ever that young ? I saw a few alumni from a variety of classes. It was a trip. The game was played at Susquehanna Satdium. If you are home we will be at Applachian Brewing Co. Dennis will have the annual Football game on Thanksgiving Day.
Happy Turkey Bowl Everyone,
Craig

Our condolences to Steve Urban, who lost his father earlier this year, and to Tim Trayer, whose father passed away on November 6, 1998.

from Della: I talked to Kim Cook Leggett and she said that Jan Leggett Hawks and her husband Ron became parents on June 1st (1998). Their daughter's name is Lexie Anne.

from Craig: I talked to Tammy's Cousin on Sunday and he said Tammy is pregant. He didn't know when she is due. They are now settled in Japan. Della keeps working on the Webpage so check it out. We will try to meet at Apalachian Brewing Co. over the thanksgiving Holiday. Dennis is tired of cooking all the time. Craig

Dennis Myers once again hosted a BBQ at his mom's house last Labor Day weekend. In attendance were Dennis, Della Hoke-Uvick, Craig Bartlett, Mike Petrillo, Bob Kehew, Chuck Kolonauski, and Rosanne Kelly Gibson, along with spouses, children, and friends. The food was delicious, plenty of ribs, chicken, roasted corn and many other goodies. Dennis harassed us all into a fun game of Speed Ball - since it was a hot and humid night, we were all drenched and exhausted when we finally quit, but it was great fun. While the kids watched videos inside, we sat around to chat.

News from Bart:
Hey CHHS Fans, We forced Dennis to have several picnics this summer. Dennis as always cooked too much food. Applachian Brewing Co has the game room open and a new Deck. A new kitchen should be done soon, but it is being done by the City. Shea Quinn had a baby girl and is now working at Fred's Music in Lancaster and still singing. Ricky Wolfe also had a baby girl. Meg B is working on Rehabiliting a "New" home. Well when you get back to the old homestead check it out and keep in touch. Della is still keeping the website up to date. Bart
