Here you will find out what the Troop did and learned, and if there are any handouts and what might be due for the next meeting, and the snack schedule.

Girls: Please bring the Interest Projects for Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts with you to each meeting.

look over list of possible activities. most would like to go to "Winter Holiday" in January and Xtreme Nursing in April. Handed out the Nut/Candy/Magazine Sale info out. Started conversation on the Library Lockin (holiday or xmas?)

Present: Sarah H., Marisa, Hannah, Olivia, Rachel, Sarah U. and Britt. Assigned some snack assignments. Discussed Library Lock-in and settled on a Dr. Seuss theme.

Snack: Sarah H. Discussed ideas for the Seuss Lock-in. Looked @ Seuss books.

Snack: Olivia. Watched The Lorax, Picked date for Lock-in, looked over what was discussed last week. Did some assigning of rotation/stations and costumes. See notes here. Present: Hannah, Olivia, Rachel, Julia, Maddie, Sarah U. & Katharine.

Collected the pink & yellow forms. Troop did some catching up and general discussion.

Handed out the Gold Award booklets, went over some of the requirements.

Discussed Library Lock-In for next year: Murder Mystery. Developed some of the characters for troop members to act out. Plot to be determined.

Tried to determine a badge to start on. Asked everyone to go over the IP book to see if there were badges that they have done some work on already. Don't go back further than a year on applying activities toward an IP. Della informed the troop about CH GS Camporee next April - most seemed interested. Listed other dates (Clothing Drive, International Fair, Nat'l Singalong - see SU E7).

Filled out the Letter of Intent. Della will take into Hemlock. Looked @ IPs to earn. Decided on "Games for Life". Ali will check w/ Mr. Hallett to check on recipient for gift of games. Thx to Olivia for taking notes during the meeting, and thx to Emily for the snacks/drinks.

Mrs. Keiser helped troop w/ two Games for Life activities. We welcomed Sarah & Maddie to the troop. Katharine, Julia & Rachel were presented w/ the Silver Award. Ali provided the snacks/drinks.

Troop continued "work" J on the Games for Life IPP by teaching the troop a singing or jump rope game. If you were absent, you may do this at the next meeting. Emily created a snack list for the troop to follow.

The troop continued to work on the Games for Life IPP. Card games were taught and played. Della had a giggle-fit while listening to the rules of Sheepshead (sorry, Em!). Turns out that there are plenty of websites for Sheepshead!! Snack: Olivia

Discussed and decided that the Library Lock-in should be delayed until the Fall. Will get a new date. Continue to work on the Lock-in, good ideas have been discussed and we'll fine tune it. Discussed Gold Award things - time is moving fast. Think about what you'd like to do. Pick something that you really care about. Prerequisites need to be done, too. Need to finish the Games for Life IPP.

Discussed future activities - Emily suggested that the troop meet a few times over the summer. Girls decided on having a potluck for the next meeting.

Cookie Money is due!
We had a wonderful potluck dinner! Thanks to everyone for their contributions and fun conversation. Troop discussed the Library Sleepover.

"Tested" an art activity for the Library Sleepover - we made fingerprint art. The troop seemed to enjoy it. Everyone asked to bring a game to share that develops mental, physical, or other qualities (from the "Games for Life" badge) for the next meeting.

Worked on "Games for Life" badge by sharing games - K&S brought their DDR, Olivia & Marisa suggested a variation on charades, and the Sarahs taught the group an acting/theater warm-up game.

NO meeting - bandies are away, and soccer girls are @ West Perry for a game. And della is sick, too.

Games for Life IP PARENTS: Please come to this meeting so that the registration forms for 2007-2008 can be filled out. $10 in GSUSA dues is needed. We will be taking a field trip to Toys 'R' Us to purchase games to donate to Promise Place.

Marisa brought the game "Sequence" and Maddie had the girls play "Spud". Then the girls played (ahem) "B.S.". It was a fun night! Thanks to Hannah for providing the snack.

Celebration of new council: Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA

The girls drew/colored their ideas for the cabinet that will hold the games that we are donating.

We had a great time eating and yakking ;-) Marisa & Olivia are looking into a couple of different places for us to go for a party/sleepover/trip. More info when it becomes available.
